We want otterdev.me to work well for as many people as possible, regardless of how they browse. This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we've done
- Semantic landmarks and a skip-to-content link on every page.
- Full keyboard operability, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Text and interface contrast that meets WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Form fields with proper labels and clear error messages.
- Respect for the "reduced motion" system setting - animations are minimized when you ask your device to.
- Text that scales with your browser settings without breaking.
- Headings in a logical, sequential order.
Known limitations
We test as we build, but a few things are worth flagging honestly:
- The cookie-consent banner is a third-party component. We've styled and configured it for accessibility, but we don't control every detail of it.
- Content linked to or embedded from other sites may not meet the same standard we hold our own pages to.
Found a problem?
If something is hard to use, or you hit a barrier anywhere on the site, please tell us - it genuinely helps. Email [email protected] with the page and what went wrong, and we'll aim to respond within a few business days.
Ongoing work
Accessibility isn't a one-time checkbox. We review it as the site changes and update this statement when anything meaningful shifts.
